December 2011~ Wrapping up the 292 install |
|
- Brought the car to Mayeda Motorsports:
- exhaust work
- exhaust hangers replaced
- added lapjoint clamps
- reworked some of the poor welds
- most welds weren't repairable - too much welding on joints already (brittle)
- Exhaust will need to be redone at some point
- suspension work
- 'Stereo':
- finished installation
- searching for early '60s tissue dispenser to house amp & other components

- 'Stereo' install:
- setup does not include a head unit. Plan to use the following:
- small (marine) 4 channel amp
- PAC LC1 Remote Amplifier Level Controller
- iSimple IS75 PolyWire Universal iPod/iPhone/Aux Interface Cable
- allows charging and connection with one cable
- fabricated mounting plate for amp and volume control - to be placed inside glove box area
- troubleshooting amp problems - only getting audio from channels 1 & 2 (4 channel amp)
- Misc:
- removed starter to tighten oil pans bolts
- modified oil breather
- was leaking oil onto top surface of vavle cover
- bent 'tabs' on bottom of breather - much tighter fit
- fabricated transmision cart - to create more free space in the garage
- swapped out battery for one with black top (instead of bright yellow)
