• Finished bending fuel line (finally)

• Continued work on carb linkage

• Started looking at different options for different radiator/fan combos. Current setup will require fan, radiator, and core support to be installed as a unit.

• Purchased Holley throttle linkage bushing and barbed fuel inlet

• Researched more radiator and fan combo options

• Started the search for a 700R4 torque converter

• Researched more radiator and fan combo options

• Removed driveshaft & powerglide tranny

•Got 700R4 in tranny tunnel and bolted to engine, but was not able to bolt it up crossmember

• Ordered new radiator

• Sold old radiator

• Moved engine and tranmission forward in engine bay to figure out crossmember problems. Crossmember hits floor and will not work.
• Researched tranny crossmember problem with Bowtie Overdrives and CPP

• Returned old 700R4 Crossmember

• Purchased new 700R4 Crossmember

• Installed new crossmember - does not it the floor

• Tried to install new radiator - it is NOT a direct fit/replacment

• Visited Modern Performance Parts to further research radiator options

• Purchased upper & lower radiator hoses and transmission mount
• Ordered braided fuel line (stainless steel line to carb) and AN fittings

• Tried installing new crossmember. Transmission hits the tranny tunnel. Tranny tunnel will need to be clearanced ~ 1/4" in three spots.

• Tried installing new radiator. Radiator interferes with brake lines. Lines may need to be slightly re-routed.

• Searched for local torque converter suppliers

• Installed crossmember after creating clearance in tranny tunnel.

• Searched for local torque converter suppliers.

• Sent email to TCI Auto to inquire about parts needed for 700R4 conversion.


• Installed gas tank with rubber strips between the tank straps and tank

• Compared original and new radiator - started measuring for mounting holes to be drilled in core support.

• Test fit tranmission cooler lines from a 3rd Gen Nova - won't work without heavy modification.

• Drilled Core Support to mount new radiator.

• Installed new radiator, checked mechanical fan clearance.

• Temporarily installed hood to check for radiator and air cleaner clearance.

• Measured new driveshaft length required for 700R4 (47.75").

• Researched/started search for: recircualting radiator overflows, transmssion cooler lines, gauges

• Test fit radiator hoses - will need a different upper hose

• Emailed US Radiator re: Transmission cooler fittings

• Searched Pick-n-Pull for mechanical fans. Purchased one from a 60's Dodge truck and one from a 3rd Gen Nova.

• Started checking for fan to radiator and fan to balancer bolt clearance, using different combinations of spacers and fans

• Removed heater/blower and disassembled

• Flushed out/cleaned heater core

• Started organizing nuts/bolts/parts for reassembly

  • Dropped off manifolds for sandblasting/ceramic coating.

• Visited J & M Speed Center to research re-circulating radiator overflow cans.

• Continued to organize nuts/bolts/parts for reassembly.

• Worked on Offy throttle linkage and throttle return sping brackets - getting full throttle and return spring is now working.

• Started prep & paint on air cleaner.

•Test fit 4 blade 3rd Generation Nova fan - provides more clearance than 6 blade fan

•Installed battery tray - measured for recircualting radiator overflows.

• Placed order for Heater Box Seal Kit, Heater Hose Clamps, caulking sealer & 700R4 shift Indicator lens

• Worked on cleaning up inside of heater box for paint

• Placed order for gauges - oil pressure, water temp, transmission temp, and tachometer

• More heater box disassembly and rust clean-up
