• Finished bending fuel line (finally) • Continued work on carb linkage • Started looking at different options for different radiator/fan combos. Current setup will require fan, radiator, and core support to be installed as a unit. |
• Purchased Holley throttle linkage bushing and barbed fuel inlet • Researched more radiator and fan combo options • Started the search for a 700R4 torque converter |
• Researched more radiator and fan combo options • Removed driveshaft & powerglide tranny •Got 700R4 in tranny tunnel and bolted to engine, but was not able to bolt it up crossmember |
• Ordered new radiator • Sold old radiator • Moved engine and tranmission forward in engine bay to figure out crossmember problems. Crossmember hits floor and will not work. |
• Researched tranny crossmember problem with Bowtie Overdrives and CPP |
• Returned old 700R4 Crossmember • Purchased new 700R4 Crossmember |
• Installed new crossmember - does not it the floor • Tried to install new radiator - it is NOT a direct fit/replacment |

• Visited Modern Performance Parts to further research radiator options • Purchased upper & lower radiator hoses and transmission mount |
• Ordered braided fuel line (stainless steel line to carb) and AN fittings |
• Tried installing new crossmember. Transmission hits the tranny tunnel. Tranny tunnel will need to be clearanced ~ 1/4" in three spots. |
• Tried installing new radiator. Radiator interferes with brake lines. Lines may need to be slightly re-routed. |
• Searched for local torque converter suppliers |

• Installed crossmember after creating clearance in tranny tunnel. |
• Searched for local torque converter suppliers. • Sent email to TCI Auto to inquire about parts needed for 700R4 conversion. |
• Installed gas tank with rubber strips between the tank straps and tank |
• Compared original and new radiator - started measuring for mounting holes to be drilled in core support. |
• Test fit tranmission cooler lines from a 3rd Gen Nova - won't work without heavy modification. |

• Drilled Core Support to mount new radiator. • Installed new radiator, checked mechanical fan clearance. • Temporarily installed hood to check for radiator and air cleaner clearance. • Measured new driveshaft length required for 700R4 (47.75"). |
• Researched/started search for: recircualting radiator overflows, transmssion cooler lines, gauges • Test fit radiator hoses - will need a different upper hose • Emailed US Radiator re: Transmission cooler fittings |
• Searched Pick-n-Pull for mechanical fans. Purchased one from a 60's Dodge truck and one from a 3rd Gen Nova. • Started checking for fan to radiator and fan to balancer bolt clearance, using different combinations of spacers and fans |
• Removed heater/blower and disassembled • Flushed out/cleaned heater core • Started organizing nuts/bolts/parts for reassembly |
• Dropped off manifolds for sandblasting/ceramic coating. • Visited J & M Speed Center to research re-circulating radiator overflow cans. |
• Continued to organize nuts/bolts/parts for reassembly. • Worked on Offy throttle linkage and throttle return sping brackets - getting full throttle and return spring is now working. |

• Started prep & paint on air cleaner. •Test fit 4 blade 3rd Generation Nova fan - provides more clearance than 6 blade fan •Installed battery tray - measured for recircualting radiator overflows. |
• Placed order for Heater Box Seal Kit, Heater Hose Clamps, caulking sealer & 700R4 shift Indicator lens |
• Worked on cleaning up inside of heater box for paint |
• Placed order for gauges - oil pressure, water temp, transmission temp, and tachometer |
• More heater box disassembly and rust clean-up |
